It depends on how many sessions you run, how long they are and which model you use. Pick a preset, adjust the numbers to match one of your own sessions, and read the monthly total per model.
Where do the preset numbers come from?
They are assumptions for a light, typical and heavy user, not measurements. For real numbers, run one task and read its tokens in your usage logs.
Why is most of the input cached?
Every step of a session resends the conversation so far. Claude Code uses prompt caching, so the repeated part is billed at the much lower cache-read price.
