Cherry Studio is a multi-provider desktop chat client for Windows, macOS and Linux. Add Half Off Dev once as an OpenAI-compatible provider and the same key opens up Claude, GPT and Gemini inside it, each at half its official price. Create an [API key](/app/keys) first.

## Import in one click {#import}

On [API keys](/app/keys), choose **Use in tools** → **Cherry Studio** → **Open in Cherry Studio**. The provider is created in the app for you; Cherry Studio has to be installed. A key you just created is already filled in. For an older key, paste the full key into the dialog, since Half Off Dev keeps only a hash of it.

## Manual setup {#manual-setup}

Create a provider with these values:

| Field | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Provider type | OpenAI-compatible (or "New API") |
| API host | `https://halfoff.dev` (no `/v1`, the app adds it) |
| API key | your `ho-...` key |

Then add models by id, for example `claude-sonnet-5.5`, `gpt-6.1-sol` and `gemini-3.1-pro`. The [model list](/models) has the rest.

## Fixing errors {#troubleshooting}

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| `401` `Invalid or revoked API key` | The key was mistyped, cut short or revoked. Paste it again or make a new one. |
| `404` `Model '...' is not available` | That id doesn't exist. Copy one from `GET /v1/models` or the [model list](/models). |
| `404` with `/v1/v1/` in the path | The API host ends in `/v1`. Change it to `https://halfoff.dev`. |
| `404` `Unknown endpoint` | A Cherry Studio feature is calling an API Half Off Dev doesn't serve, such as embeddings. Use Half Off Dev for chat and another provider for that feature. |
| `402` | The balance is empty or the key has hit its spend cap. See [Billing](/docs/account/billing). |
